Is the KVAR Energy Controller Safe?
Absolutely!The KVAR Energy Controller has over 14 national and international patents on it. It has been approved by Underwriters Laboratory (UL) and Canadian Standard Approved, (CSA). Energy and safety tests have been conducted by the following organizations: NASA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Department of Energy, and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant.
Does the KVAR Energy Controller have a warranty?
Yes, KVAR comes with a standard 12 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Does the KVAR Energy Controller have a “Money Back Guarantee”?

How does the KVAR Energy Controller actually work?
The KVAR Energy Controller stores and recycles electrical energy. The unit attaches to the electric panel or to a motor in your home or business. By using capacitors to store electricity it reduces the amount of power drawn from the electric company. Inductive motors, such as those found in AC/Heating units, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, pool pumps, vacuum cleaners, furnace blower motors, fans etc., generally require approximately 80% of the power supplied to them thus wasting up to 20%, which has been billed to you in kilowatt hours of usage. This extra 20% running through your appliance or motor causes them to work harder and hotter, and in turn shortens their life. The KVAR Energy Controller ”recycles” the flow of electricity, storing it and releasing it when it is needed, creating unity between the amount of power needed and the amount of power supplied. This whole process is called Power Factor Optimization.
What is Power Factor?
Power Factor is the percentage of electricity that is delivered to your home/office or commercial facility and used effectively compared to that which is wasted. Economically, your electrical system should operate in “unity” between the electricity provided to your system and that being effectively used thus eliminating wasted electricity.
What happens to the wasted electricity?
It heats up your motor and that which is not turned to heat is returned to the grid without being efficiently used by your electric system; however you have been billed for it.
Does the KVAR Energy Controller work in any home or business?
Yes it does, as long as you have a circuit breaker panel with breaker switches and not the old screw in type fuses, the unit will work on any single-phase electric application for homes and in most business/industrial environments.
Is the KVAR Energy Controller tested and approved by independent labs?
Yes, the KVAR Energy Controller is UL listed and tested in the U.S. & Canada, and has been tested by many other highly credentialed organizations such as; NASA, EPA, RoHS. The technology is recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy after their endorsement of the product.
Will the KVAR Energy Controller affect any of my appliances or motors and their normal use?
No, if anything, your motors will run about 10% cooler, which is good for a motor because heat is the enemy of a motor.
How much can I expect to save per month by using the KVAR Energy Controller?
That depends on many factors. The size of your home or business, the amount of inductive motor load, and the amount you are paying per kilowatt-hour for electricity etc.. Generally speaking users of the product have seen up to 25% in reduced consumption, but the average savings is somewhere in the 15% to 20% range.
How long will it take for the KVAR Energy Controller to pay for itself?
Generally about 6-12 months, but again, the same factors above apply, some will see sooner (6 months), some will see later (12 months).
Is the KVAR Energy Controller easy to install?
Yes. We recommend installation by an electrician. The unit comes with complete installation instructions. It installs in about 20-30 minutes.
How long will the KVAR Energy Controller last?
It has a predicted lifespan of up to 25 years.
Why haven’t I heard of this product until now?
That’s easy, two words “cost effectiveness”. Up until recently, electric rates throughout America were cheap, costing us 2, 3 or 4 cents per kilowatt-hour. Now, electric rates are 8, 10, 12,14, and 19 and in some cases 22 cents per Kwh, (New York City) and Hawaii is 33.5 cents per Kwh. At the cheaper rates the KVAR Energy Controller didn’t make sense, but at the current rates, it makes all the sense in the world.
Are there any code violations of mounting the KVAR Energy Controller to the fuse box, panel, or placement in any other area of the home or directly to the incoming power lines?
The power company’s authority STOPS at the meter. Installation of your KVAR Energy Controller should be done by a licensed electrician to warrant the product and to ensure proper installation and liabilities.
Where is the ideal place to install the KVAR Energy Controller?
Installation of the KVAR Energy Controller at the panel should be connected on the top, left side of the panel on a double pull or double throw switch, parallel. It is recommended that you use a licensed electrician to do your installation to ensure proper installation and warranty of the product.
How do you achieve savings?
As the demand for power runs through your home, there is nonproductive current (heat) that strains your home appliances and wiring. Remember that most motors only require about 80% of the power being supplied to them. The additional 20% is being sent through the applaince or motor but is not used. This is nonproductive current which causes the motor to heat up. This heat is wasted energy that you are paying for. The KVAR Energy Controller optimizes the power that comes into your home, allowing your appliances and equipment motors to operate more efficiently. This reduces heat (wasted electricity), which in turn lowers your electric bill, reduces the chance of fires, and increases the life of your appliances and motorized equipment.
What about KVAR Energy Contoller for Surge Protection?
The KVAR Energy Controller also protects the entire home against power surges. The amperage/power surge protection that would from the power company, or a direct lightning strike at the pole. The KVAR Energy Controller has two thousand joules of surge suppression in each capacitor in the unit. We don’t claim to stop lightening, that alone is a one-in-a-million chance. The KVAR Energy Controller basically stops all the waste the electric company wants to send you and sends it back to the power company.
